Trac Pac Carabiners
by Lianeh on Oct.30, 2009, under Patrol Store
Who doesn’t need a carabiner these days? Trac Pac Carabiners are handy clips that come in two sizes with the option of the lockable kind to insure you don’t lose your valuables.
Constructed of black steel and set in an offset D-Shape, the gate opening end is bigger than the end where the hinge is so you can easily attach and detach items as well as it allowing for more or bigger items to be attached.
Featuring a spring loaded hinge, the Trac Pac Carabiners clip easily onto backpacks, duty bags, belt loops – pretty much anything and with the locking screw gate on the Trac Pac Locking Carabiners this makes it extra secure to ensure that the carabiner doesn’t accidentally open if snagged on something.
Available in two sizes 6mm or 8mm, the lightweight Trac Pac Carabiners come in a pair and are not suitable for climbing purposes, but are an ideal camping, hiking, patrol or tour accessory.
I’m very happy with mine and pleased with the quality and build of the Trac Pac Carabiners

Surefire 6P Defender Torch
by Mattm on Oct.28, 2009, under Patrol Store
The whole office was recently issued a Surefire 6P Defender Torch by our ever safety conscious manager as the dim evenings draw in and many members of staff were walking home in the dark. Whilst the 6P Defender Torch was mainly for the benefit of the more vulnerable members off staff in the interest of fairness we all got the same Surefire and I have been more than pleased with my early Christmas present.
The Surefire range of torches has long been popular with military personnel with their compact yet rugged design and reliable performance and the 6P Defender torch is no exception. At 5.5 inches long its aerospace-grade aluminium body fits neatly into your hand and is unobtrusive when tucked into a pocket, yet with the click of the tailcap switch you have 65 lumens of tactical level beam, more than 3 times what you get from your average 2-D Cell torch. The two 123A lithium batteries (which come supplied) give the Surefire 6P Defender torch a 60 min run time of continuous use. (There is also an LED upgrade lamp to give 120 lumens of output but at a reduced run time of 20 mins).
As with most torches the Surefire 6P Defender Torch can be used to blind and disorientate an attacker, as well as illuminating your position and surroundings, but what makes the Defender Torch stand out above the rest of the Surefire range is the Crenellated Strike Bezel for enhanced self defence capabilities. The window front is also Tempered Pyrex improving impact resistance.
O ring sealed for weatherproofing, all in all the Surefire 6P defender torch is an excellent bit of kit for tactical use or the ideal companion for anyone alone in the dark.
