A perfect solution to those outdoor activities and exercises on blistering hot days is the Web-Tex Hydration Pack. There are many activities that this brilliant piece of kit will cater for perfectly. Personally I find it a great solution to keeping yourself well hydrated during a bike ride, a festival or whilst trekking. I’m positive anyone who takes part in outdoor activities this summer would love the easy use and practical design.

The Web-Tex Hydration Pack in British DPM has a 1.5 litre bladder with a neoprene pipe cover and bite valve. The bladder is housed in a separate sealed compartment and there is a 10 litre section to store other items.

The pack is made from 1000 denier IRR waterproof Cordura. Cordura is long lasting and resistant to abrasions, tears and scuffs due to it exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. The IRR technology used is a clever technique which adapts the thermal radiation of an item under camouflage to be closer to the level of the respective thermal background.

Neoprene shoulder straps have been used for long lasting comfort and support. In addition to the shoulder straps, adjustable waist and cross chest straps guarantee the pack won’t slip out of place and become uncomfortable. It is light and comfortable so could be worn on your back all day without any aches or pains, but could also be attached to your bergan or backpack.

The bladder has a good sized handle and large filler cap for fuss free refilling and cleaning. An additional small, handy valve to release any excess air is located at the top of the bladder.

The Gerber Mongoose Multi LED Microlight is a very handy little torch for police officers and military personnel.

The possibilities are endless with this torch. The Gerber Mongoose torch can be attached to practically anything, including equipment belts, clothing and special ops vests, using its brilliant magnetic rip and stick strip. The best part of this versatile torch is the flexible, detachable band, which is strong so that it won’t veer out of position even during the most exuberant activities but flexible enough to not to divert your attention from a situation. As the torch can be detached from the band it is perfect for use as a key chain torch too. The casing of the torch is black plastic and is water resistant.

You can choose from five different coloured 5mm LEDs using the rotating dial with different functions for each colour:

• White for general use
• Red for use without impairing night vision
• Blue for detecting fluids
• Green for map reading
• UV Black for security identification or night fishing

This torch will be attractive to many police officers because it features blue and UV LEDs. These are used for detection of fluids, including bodily fluids and some controlled drugs. Immediate, detailed search and investigation, of an area where you suspect an incident or offence has taken place, is essential and the Mongoose accomplishes this brilliantly.

The white light is useful for everyone, but military personnel will find this item extra useful. As the green light will be used for map reading and the red used to preserve night vision, it will come in very handy on military operations, especially as it can be attached to anything we have tried it on allowing for hands free use.

The Mongoose uses two CR2032 lithium batteries which provide 30 hours of use. You need not concern yourself with the lifetime of the LEDs as they are long lasting and give 6 lumens of targeted light up to 12m (40 ft.).

The designers have spent time researching and developing this torch to be a perfect solution to both soldiers and police officers’ illumination needs, in any situation you could find yourself in.

The on/off button can be pressed for temporary lighting and permanent light can be selected with the slide feature.
